Baby formula shipment arrives in U.S.

On Sunday, the U.S. military made its first shipment of Nestlé baby formula, which came from Switzerland, as a part of an emergency plan to address the severe shortage of baby formula in America.

This shipment of baby formula will help meet 15% of the need for a special kind of baby formula for children with specific health needs.

The emergency plan, conducted by the Biden administration, is called "Operation Fly Formula." There will be more shipments coming in from Europe to make the equivalent of about 1.5 million 8-ounce bottles of baby formula.

900,000 homes without power in southern Canada

This recent Saturday, a huge deadly storm hit the provinces of Ontario and Quebec. Several people were killed from falling trees and about 900,000 homes lost power. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that the federal government is prepared to help those who were affected by the storm.

Couple kills bear that attacked them inside of their home

On Friday night in Wisconsin, a married couple saw a bear in their backyard eating from their bird feeder. The couple opened a window and yelled at the bear to try and make it go away, but the bear went straight for the window and burst inside and attacked the couple. The couple got a kitchen knife and stabbed the bear. The husband grabbed a firearm and shot and killed the bear. The couple had children who were sleeping in their bedroom upstairs and they were not injured. The couple went to the hospital to treat several bite wounds and were released. The local sheriff's office said the bear was an adult female and that there was a cub that ran away when the attack happened. So it is possible that the bear was a mother bear.

Flight Attendant delivers baby on Frontier Airlines

Last week, a Frontier Airlines flight attendant delivered a baby in the lavatory. This story is now making it to the news articles. This was a 3 hours flight from Denver to Orlando. The mother, Shakeria Martin, was taking a nap and all of the sudden felt some contractions. She realized that she was going to give birth. This baby is her 4th child so she knows what it feels like when a baby is ready to be born. She went in the bathroom and the flight attendant Diana Giraldo helped Shakeria. With two pushes, the baby came out and Diana immediately wrapped up the baby with a blanket.

The captain of the aircraft during that 3 hours flight applauded the crew workers and said they did a great job working together to deliver a newborn on a plane. The baby’s name is Jada Lynn Sky. The name of Sky is because Jada was born in the air.
