Waffle House good Samaritan killed after paying for meals

Last Sunday, in Gainesville, Florida, there was a murder at a Waffle House.

A man, Craig Brewer (41) offered to pay for customers’ meals and handed out $20 bills.

A female customer started arguing with Brewer because he didn’t pay for her meal.

The female was with a man named Ezekiel Hicks (25), who argued with Brewer. He left the Waffle House to get his 9mm Glock pistol.

He came back in and started fighting Brewer, then pulled out his gun and shot him in the head several times.

Hicks was arrested a few minutes later in the parking lot and has admitted to shooting Brewer. He was charged with murder.

Police said they have surveillance camera footage that captured everything.

Police said they were shocked because they got a call from the restaurant requesting help with overcrowding, then in a matter of minutes, it transformed into a murder with a suspect arrested and a weapon retrieved.

Investigators are trying to figure out if Hicks and Brewer knew each other prior to the shooting.
