Update on lawsuit against SiriusXM over transcripts

InsideRadio.com reported that there may be a settlement in the lawsuit against SiriusXM, a large radio services company, over its failure to provide podcast transcripts.

The lawsuit was filed by the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) and Disability Rights Advocates in December 2021.

The lawsuit said SiriusXM and its content providers fail to provide transcripts despite the fact that it is simple to do, can be automated, and after deaf and hard-of-hearing people asked for access.

The report from InsideRadio.com said an attorney for SiriusXM asked a New York judge that they are having a settlement conversation and asked for a delay in filing deadlines until January 31. So stay tuned for a settlement, hopefully.
