There are eight crewmembers still missing from a commercial lift that capsized last week in waters near Louisiana. The U.S. Coast Guard announced it was suspending its search on Monday after six days. However the boat company, Seacor Marine, will continue to send private divers to search for the missing.

There were a total of 19 crewmembers on the ship when it went down last Tuesday during bad weather. Six were rescued within a few hours. There were 12 missing, and five bodies were found in the next several days. Eight are still missing and they are likely dead.

The president of Chad, Idriss Deby Itno, died from wounds he sustained on a visit to a battlefield where Chadian soldiers were fighting against a rebel group. He was the country’s leader for over 30 years and had just won an election to stay in power for another six years.

The military announced that Itno’s son, Mahamat, would take over as interim leader.

There are some worried that this is akin to a coup because elected lawmakers are supposed to be the ones who make decisions about a transfer of power.

On Friday night in Houston, two men in a Tesla car were killed when it crashed into a tree and burst into flames. Investigators said nobody was driving the car — that one person was in the front passenger seat and another was in the rear passenger seat. It took firefighters four hours, 32,000 gallons of water, and a phone call to Tesla to finally stop the flames that came from the vehicle’s batteries.

It raised questions on if the Tesla was self-driving at the time, but CEO Elon Musk tweeted that data logs show that Autopilot was not enabled and that the car did not have “full self-driving mode.”

The crash is under investigation by two federal agencies.

In Montana near the Yellowstone National Park, a large grizzly bear attacked a 40-year-old man named Charles Mock who was fishing alone along a river on Thursday. He sustained scalp and facial wounds and was able to call 911 and after about an hour, first responders found him and used a toboggan and snowmobile to rush him to an ambulance, but he died on Saturday. He was a guide at the national park. NBC News said he had bear spray residue on his clothes, so he did activate the spray.

On Friday, the day after the attack, several police officers and wildlife workers went to the scene of the attack and were confronted by a 420-pound older male grizzly bear. The officers shot and killed the bear and said it was because it charged them and ignored multiple attempts to haze it away. The group later discovered a moose carcass 50 yards away, so it is believed that the bear was defending its food.
