Cincinnati drive-by shooting

Police in Cincinnati, Ohio said on Friday night, a person in a vehicle fired 22 bullets into a crowd of children. Tragically, an 11-year-old boy was killed. Four other children and a woman were hit by bullets.

Cincinnati Mayor Pureval said it is sickening and unimaginable. Police vowed to find whoever is responsible and bring them to justice.

The father of the deceased boy, Isaac Davis, asked “When will this stop? Will this ever stop?”

Muslim student targeted at Stanford

Stanford University said there is now a hate crime investigation after an Arab Muslim student reported that a white male driving an SUV intentionally struck him, shouted, “F*** you and your people,” and drove away.

The student fortunately did not have any serious physical injuries but he said he is traumatized. Law enforcement are now looking for the suspect.

Stanford University leaders said they are very disturbed to hear about this incident and that it is working to provide a safe and secure campus environment in the context of heightened tensions related to the events in Israel and Gaza.

Israeli military surrounds Gaza City

The Israeli military said its troops have surrounded Gaza City and cut off northern Gaza from southern Gaza. Troops may enter Gaza City today or tomorrow. Israel said there is a one-way corridor for civilians to escape to the south.

USAToday said on Sunday, two large explosions in two central Gaza refugee camps killed many Palestinians. The civilian death toll in Gaza continues to rise with health officials saying at least 10,000 were killed, including over 4,000 children. The death toll is likely to increase when Israeli troops enter Gaza City.

Israel said it would not stop its fighting in its goal to eliminate Hamas in response to the October 7 attack that killed 1,400 people in southern Israel.

The U.N. has called for an immediate humanitarian cease-fire, saying it’s been 30 days and that enough is enough.

Trump leads Biden in polls

Donald Trump is leading President Biden in polls in five out of six important battleground states: Nevada, Michigan, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Arizona. Biden has a lead in Wisconsin.

The polls were conducted by The New York Times with Siena College with about over 3,600 respondents.

The presidential election will happen almost exactly next year from today - November 4, 2024.

Biden will have one more year to convince voters that he’s the right leader for another four years, while Trump will have to handle a brutal schedule of campaigning and court dates for his four upcoming criminal cases.
