Monday, May 10 top stories

Hello, welcome to The Daily Moth. Hope your weekend was good. Here are today’s top stories.

In Colorado Springs, six people were gunned to death at a birthday party at a home around 12:40 a.m. on Sunday morning.

News reports say a boyfriend of one of the victims stormed inside and opened fire, and then shot and killed himself. The home was a part of a manufactured home community.

Police officers found six people dead inside with a seventh person seriously injured, who later died at a hospital. There were children at the party, but none of them were injured.

The identity of the shooter or the victims have not been released at the time of signing this news.

This is the second mass shooting in Colorado in 2021, with the first in Boulder at a King Soopers grocery store.

On Friday, a major U.S. fuel pipeline that carries 45% of the East Coast’s fuel supplies, Colonial Pipeline Co., was forced to shut down because of a ransomware attack.

A ransomware attack is when someone seizes control of a computer system or steals sensitive data and demands payment.

Colonial said it is working with a third-party cybersecurity firm and law enforcement. The FBI announced today that a group of cybercriminals known as DarkSide is responsible for the attack.

About 5,500 miles of pipeline is still shut down and the Biden administration is working with 17 states and D.C. to issue emergency declarations to keep fuel supply lines open. News reports say gas prices could go up if the shutdown lingers.

There were massive clashes and fighting between Israeli police and crowds of Palestinians at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is on a holy site that is revered by both Jewish and Muslim people. News pictures and videos show tear gas and thrown rocks both inside and outside of the mosque. Over 300 people were injured.

There were at least 45 rockets fired from Gaza from a Palestinian militant group called Hamas. The Israeli military responded with airstrikes that are said to kill six adults and three children in Gaza.

One Israeli motorist was seen ramming into a Palestinian man as crowds threw rocks.

AP News reported that there is controversy over planned evictions of dozens of Palestinians from a neighborhood to make way for Israeli settlers. Today many Israelite people are celebrating “Jerusalem Day,” today which marks their victory in the Six-Day War in 1967. So there is a lot of tension that has boiled over once again.

News reports over the weekend said Melinda Gates started exploring options for divorce from Bill Gates around two years ago because she was concerned about Bill’s meetings with Jeffrey Epstein, who committed suicide in jail in 2019 as he faced charges of sexual trafficking.

A New York Times story in 2019 featured an image of Bill Gates standing next to Jeffrey Epstein with the headline, “Bill Gates Met With Jeffrey Epstein Many Times, Despite His Past.”

The Wall Street Journal reported that Melinda met with divorce lawyers in 2019, saying her marriage was “irretrievably broken.”

Reports say Melinda warned Bill about associating with Epstein in 2013. By that time, Epstein had already served time in jail beginning in 2008 for soliciting prostitution from underage girls.

Many people are now raising questions about Bill Gates.

A person filmed a tiger walking by itself on a front lawn in a Houston neighborhood. Later, an off-duty deputy was seen holding his firearm and shouting at a man who seemed to be the owner. The man was able to grab on the tiger’s collar and pulled it inside as if it was a dog. The deputy shouted, “Get your tiger back inside.”

Local news said the man and the tiger rushed away in a white Jeep before police arrived. Now authorities are searching for the man and said he is out on bond for a November 2020 murder.

That is all the top stories for today. Check out our other videos. See you tomorrow and stay with the light.
