‘Rust’ armorer found guilty of manslaughter

Hannah Gutierrez Reed, the armorer on the set of the film, “Rust” where actor Alec Baldwin accidentally shot and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in 2021, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter.

Reed was responsible for the gun that Baldwin used. He was practicing a scene while holding the gun. There was a live bullet in it and it discharged. Baldwin and others said they didn’t know that there was a live bullet in the gun. A prosecutor said Reed failed to do her job to make sure the set was safe.

The jury deliberated for less than three hours in a New Mexico courthouse. After Reed was found guilty, she was taken into custody, where she will remain until she is sentenced. She is facing up to 18 months in prison.

New York governor to deploy 750 National Guard onto subways

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul announced an extensive plan to address a series of violent incidents in the New York City subway system. She will deploy 750 National Guard troops and about 200 MTA Police officers into the subway system.

NYC Mayor Eric Adams said three people have been killed in the subway this year alone. He announced that there would be random bag checks.

The new plan includes $20 million for mental health outreach, installing cameras in each conductor’s cabin, and a new law to ban repeat offenders.

German man deliberately got 217 COVID-19 vaccinations

There is a bizarre story of a 62-year-old man in Germany who intentionally received 217 Covid-19 vaccinations between 2021 and 2023.

The immunizations did not cause any side effects but it also did not improve his immune response. Scientific researchers said when they studied the man, they saw that he had more T cells than others who received three Covid-19 vaccine doses, but that both had the same level of effectiveness against the virus.

Local authorities in Germany have opened a fraud investigation into how the man was able to obtain so many vaccines.

FDA says to throw away 6 brands of ‘tainted with lead’ ground cinnamon

The brands are La Fiesta, Marcum, MK, Swad, Supreme Tradition and El Chilar. These products can be found in Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, Patel Brothers and Save A Lot. If you have them, the FDA advises you to throw them away.

The FDA said the lead levels in the spices are not that high, but if someone has prolonged exposure, it can become unsafe and contribute to elevated blood lead levels.
