Joe Biden accepts Democratic presidential nomination

On Thursday night, Joe Biden officially accepted the Democratic nomination for the presidency in a speech.

Biden asked if this was the America you want? He pointed out that during Donald Trump’s management of the Covid-19 crisis, we lead the world in deaths and that our economy is ruined.

Biden said Trump has cloaked America in darkness by using anger and fear. Biden said he would be “an ally to the light.”

There was a touching moment when a 13-year-old teenager named Brayden Harrington said Joe Biden told him that both of them struggled with stuttering as a boy. Biden gave him some tips on practicing how to give a speech. Brayden said he became more confident because he had someone to look up to.

Next week is the Republican National Convention.

Funeral for Robert Trump to be held at White House today

President Donald Trump’s brother Robert Trump (71) died last Saturday due to an illness. No information was shared with what kind of illness.

Today, the White House announced that a small funeral will be hosted for Robert Trump this Friday afternoon. It is rare for the White House to host this kind of service. The last time a funeral service was hosted was for President John F. Kennedy.

The White House said that President Donald Trump will cover the costs of the funeral. This recent Monday, Trump told the reporters that Robert “loves our country so much and was proud of what we were doing for our country.”

Robert Trump is the youngest of the 5.

“Full House” TV star sentenced to 2 months in prison, husband gets 5 months

Some of you may remember the situation that happened last year related to Lori Loughlin, who played Aunt Becky on a TV show called “Full House”, charged for being part of a college admissions scandal with her husband Mossimo Giannuli.

The Daily Moth did cover that news story in April 2019.

To briefly remind you what happened: Lori and her husband Mossimo took part of a scheme to get both of their daughters admitted into the University of California (USC). As of today, the results are finally in for Lori and Mossimo.

Lori will be sentenced to prison for two months with $150,000 fine and 100 hours of community service. Mossimo faces 5 months with $250,000 fine and 250 hours of community service because he was more engaged with this scheme.

So far 55 people have been charged in connection with this scandal and 28 of the 55 are parents who were involved.

Lori and Mossimo were high profile (famous) parents and the other person that also had a high profile was the actress Felicity Huffman. She pleaded guilty and spent 11 days in jail. She was released last October and has not talked about that incident ever since.

Update on Belarus protests

People are still protesting in Belarus and there are no signs of President Alexander Lukashenko resigning.

Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, Lukashenko’s opposing candidate, mentioned that people in Belarus voted for her not to be president, but to be a “symbol of change.” She said that if the protests end now, people of Belarus will become “slaves.” Tikhanovskaya has been in Lithuania since the election was over because she feared for her safety. She will return to Belarus when it is safe again.

Lukashenko has vowed to “crush” the unrest and protests in Belarus.

Tikhanovskaya is asking EU to help facilitate this.
