Deaf Transgender Actor Chella Man Announces Superhero Role on "Titans"

 

A Deaf transgender model and actor, Chella Man, announced on Twitter yesterday that he has a role as a superhero, Jericho, on the second season of “Titans.” 

“Titans” is an online web television series operated by DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. A subscription is required to watch it online. 

Here is his tweet announcing this. 

Tweet: @chellamanart “SECRET’S OUT! It is UNREAL to announce I will be making my acting debut as Jericho on Season 2 Titans! As a trans, Deaf, Jewish POC, I have always reminded myself of the power in my differences. It’s a dream come true as I will now be able to showcase this power on the Titans.” 

Chella Man explained that in the comics, the character has always used sign language because his vocal cords were severed by assassins. He said Jericho’s superpower is in his gaze, that if he locks eyes with people he can control their bodies. 

Chella Man is a successful model that has previously done work with Gap and Abercrombie & Fitch.

“Dazed” magazine said there is no release date for season 2 of “Titans,” but it is expected to debut sometime this year.
