Supreme Court rejects Texas lawsuit

Breaking news: The U.S. Supreme Court rejected the lawsuit from Texas that wanted 10 million votes in four states to be thrown out. The court said Texas did not "demonstrate a judicially cognizable interest." Texas did not show that it had jurisdiction in other states' dealings with their elections, that it was impacted by them. The court didn't see this. This rejection is a "death blow" to Trump's hopes of overturning his 2020 election loss to President-elect Joe Biden. Trump said earlier this week that this case was the "big one." 17 states filed a brief in support of Texas' lawsuit. The Trump team has lost almost all of its lawsuits in multiple states challenging election results. They have alleged fraud, but the Attorney General William Barr said there was no evidence of fraud on a level that would affect the outcome. This is the second Supreme Court decision this week that turned down the Trump side's arguments on the election.

The Electoral College will meet on Monday,December 14. Biden will get 306 votes and Trump will get 232. Congress will count these votes on January 6. Biden will be inaugurated on January 20.
